What are your health and vaccination requirements?

-
The Laid Back Cat has the right to refuse any cat that shows signs of upper respiratory illness unless accompanied by a written note of explanation by a veterinarian within 48 hours of arrival.
-
We require proof of current vaccinations administered at least ten (10) days prior to boarding:
-
Rabies
-
FVRCP
-
Negative Feline Leukemia text for all indoor/outdoor cats – highly recommended for all others.
-
All cats must be flea and tick-free
-
All cats six months or older must be spayed or neutered
-
What should I bring for my kitties stay?
-
Copies of vaccination history – a copy must remain at the kennel or can be uploaded through the portal.
-
Cat’s regular dry and/or wet food to maintain diet (please only bring enough for the boarding stay).
-
Necessary medications and instructions (medications not given on food are subject to a $10/day fee). If your pet refuses to take the medication in food or provided treat, the meds are given orally and incur the medication fee. All meds should be brought in the original bottle or packaging with vet information and instructions.
-
If desired, items from home to make your kitty more comfortable. Blankets or beds must be clean. You are welcome to bring your own scratching post or pad along with favorite toys.
-
The Laid Back Cat provides food and water bowls, litter, litter box, and bedding. Scratchers are not provided because we are unable to properly sanitize them between uses.

What do we do to keep your feline family safe?
-
All cats must arrive in a carrier that remains at the kennel. This is part of our evacuation protocol.
-
Only cats from the same home may stay together – this prevents injury and potential spread of illness.
-
All kennel surfaces are steamed and disinfected between guests (including boxes and scoops).
-
Food dishes are washed and disinfected daily.
-
The Laid Back Cat uses an environmentally friendly blend of walnut shell/corn litter.
-
The facility is monitored by camera at all times and the owner lives on the premises.
Do you take cats needing foster or adoption?
-
Unfortunately, we are not licensed as a rescue, so we are unable to take pets needing to be rehomed.
-
Please seek out a no kill shelter near you for services and assistance with rehoming.
